Web Design

View a local web page in a browser

To view a local web page in a browser:

  • go to the browser
  • select the file from the folder in which it is saved (see file finder help below)
  • open the file

To open the file finder on:

Chrome – on a web page press Control + O (Windows), Command + 0 (Mac)

Firefox – on a web page press Control + O (Windows), Command + 0 (Mac)

Safari – File>Open File …

Other browsers will operate in a similar way.

Please note that opening a local web page in the browser does not make it live on the web, it only shows a local copy of the page, i.e. it can only be seen on the computer which opens the file. For the web page to be viewed live on the web the page would need to be hosted.
