Construction Industry Reporting Solution
A construction industry company carried out snagging repairs to properties on behalf of a third party. The company faced an operational challenge: their client’s invoice approval process required the company to attach supporting documentation to each invoice. The supporting documentation was large in file size as it included photographic evidence of the before and after inspection of the snagging fix.
This process was creating inefficiencies and was time consuming to do. A report was therefore sought to:
- eliminate the manual process of finding and attaching supporting documentation to invoices
- create a centralised view on the status of projects thereby providing transparency on the status of work to all stakeholders
- quickly view the documentation completed for the work without the need to search through files.
Inspection reporting solution
Leveraging data from an API, the Power BI report allows the end user to view:
- a summary of work completed within a specified time period status of work on each plot status of work on each property
- the number of inspections carried out including their passed/failed status
- photographs taken to support the status of outstanding issues
- schedule of works for completion
- view the invoices raised.
Reduced admin burden and more transparency
By sharing this report with their client, the requirement to attach supporting documentation to each invoice has been eliminated. The company’s client can access the report at a time convenient to them with the added benefit of reducing the number of emails sent both to their client and received with follow up questions.
The report serves as a central hub for both the company and their client providing more transparency on inspection status with photographic evidence of the work carried out thereby providing a comprehensive overview of the work carried out on properties.
