Streets in a geographical area – What streets are in each council ward?

An individual active in the local community council was looking to understand the which streets, schools and other facilities fell within the bounds of the council ward This was to aid with the planning and costing of future services to support the constituents of the area.
Services provided
Locating information from the local council on the council wards boundaries, the relevant coordinates were extracted and plotted on a map in RShiny. The coordinates were then used within OpenStreeMap to locate the list of streets in the area. This data was then put into a table. Additional extraction of area boundaries with reference to primary and secondary schools were also plotted onto the map to show the interaction between wards and school boundaries. Each school or ward boundary could be turned on/off the map depending upon the focus of the user.
